COLLAGE: The Art for Cancer Network
Born in China, Weihong is a multimedia artist and graduated from the Center Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China. Weihong’s work has been exhibited all over the world. Her solo exhibitions include the National Art Gallery and Courtyard Gallery in Beijing, China; Galleria Carla Sozzani in Milan, Italy; Art and Culture Museum in Lescar, France; Lawndale Art Center, Houston Arts Alliance, The Menil Collection and Barbara Davis Gallery in Houston, Texas, USA; Crow Collection of Asian Art in Dallas, Texas, USA; and public art performances during 2010 Art Basil Miami. Her work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions at venues that include the National Art Museum of China, Beijing; Shanghai Art Museum, Shanghai Gallery of Art; The First 1990’s Biennial Art Fair in Guangzhou, China; Lab Gallery in New York, USA; DiversWorks and Blaffer Gallery in Houston, Texas, USA. She currently splits her time between Houston and Beijing, China.
Weihong and her work has been reviewed in Art in America, ID Magazine, Zoom on Fashion Trends, The Willamente Week, and Houston Chronicle. Her works have been published by Marquand Books, Inc., Cartier Art, Beijing Center for the Arts, Hong Kong Century, Yunnan Fine Arts, and Beiyue Publishing House. Weihong’s work is in both public and in private collections all over the world which include the National Art Gallery of China, Vantone Foundation, Beijing; Free International University World Art Collection in the Netherlands; NYSE Euro next Foundation in New York; Wendi Deng and Rupert Murdoch, Giorgio Armani, Carla Sozzani, Lester Marks, Dr. Mark Qiu.
In addition to her private work, Weihong also worked as an Artist-in-Residence for COLLAGE: The Art for Cancer Network since 2008. Through her work with COLLAGE, Weihong has come to realize the power art and creativity can have on healing one’s soul.
